Well it would make sense, even more sense if both companies were using the same mould, then they could bugger about making sure things like the pins in the chain plates of one didn't fit the other and all the usual dinghy bollox...

No but I'd expect the tyre valves to be the same, which they are, and the means to adjust things, to work in similar fashion. Why I wouldn't be surprised even if different RS boats have varying sizes of hole in the chain plates, that even look the same, until you try and fit the one into the other, and rudder mounts and pintles, and hatch covers, it goes on. |

Nope, never ordering a dinghy boat 'off plans' ever again, I shall go to the dinghy show, look at both boats, I might have my chequebook with me (not that there's any point since you can't buy anything boat wise)make a decision based on wether I like the look if it, the price and wether I think it's worth the money, how soon it'll be delivered, wether I think it is an improvement on what I've got, to the point my crap boat handling technique will be less of a handicap to me. Oh and it's handicap of course, that will be part of the decision making process, a bit like just about everyone else I guess that doesn't want a solo or laser. |

You're going to have to wait a while for that handicap Graeme... No point worry about whatever arbitrary number the manufacturer gives (if they're stupid enough to venture an opinion on the 'no win' topic). It's whatever Hamble says a year down the line... Based on 3 results or whatever the minimum criteria is these days.

Precisely the reason these people need the SBHRS number calculated before the boat goes to market. At least we know the punk at 1050 was there or thereabouts. |
