To answer Prince Buster they are all members of NA-ME at Strathclyde, after a leacture was cancled and drinking started at 2 in the afternoon and including a sailing social.

You say 'you stretch out fully when a gust hits', I take it you mean when sailing downwind? Then surely if twinning conditons, you would want to both be flat out and bearing away in the gusts, not just extending on the wire and sailing the same angle!?!

Sailing maxed downwind in a Cherub (or any other assymetric for that matter) isn't always best for VMG. As demonstrated by Andy P.




But that's not soaking - more like trying to keep the crew on the wire on a tight reach .

Bosham in chichester harbour, the photo was taken by a friend standing on the wall that is about 10 metres in front of me! Also that's the crappy sail that i was using as a training sail, i've also got a fancy plastic one to use for racing.
