Oh and to complete the picture, we have 1 demo boat because Jon had to borrow mine to sail in Carnac.

How does that compare to the D-One - Ruscoe?

Well that's half gone to export, not bad, not bad at all, nice to see a Brit company doing ok with overseas sales.

for the benefit of fairness.... Russ is on a sun lounger in Menorca clocking up some unsightly roaming data charges on here, hope it's a work Blackberry or his Mrs will chew his balls off....

if there's a delay in response, please don't read too much into it.

But impressive US stats Nick... really, they're waking up over there, blimey???

I don't think comparison with the Laser is really sensible as the class it is so numerous and much longer in the tooth ...

For a young class where the owners are typically motivated having just brought a new expensive design of racing dinghy I'd expect a high % turn out ...

Perhaps look at a similar class at a similar stage of development ...

The first Musto Skiff Worlds was 2007; they got 86 boats.

According to this page there were probably about 250 boats built at that point (I believe their sail numbers started at 50 like the 49er)

So that is about 35% attendance rate.

I would expect similar for the RS100; so if their are 400 boats out there they should easily get 100 and as such be able to support an International Jury.

Nick,
I coul just spout a load of figures like you that mean absolutely nothing. But I won't for two reasons. Number 1 I don't work for Devoti so have no idea how many d1's have been sold, our sail numbers don't run consecutively. Secondly I don't even work for Suntouched so have no idea how many boats have been sold in the uk. I can only comment in those which I have helped to sell here in the uk! I am also not interested in a mine is bigger than yours competition. It's obvious from the uk that more 100's have sold. But then ford have sold more fiestas than VW have a sold polos? What's your point?

Also just out of interest do Menorca boats not get an Isaf plaque and sail number? And that's not a loaded statement it's a genuine question

Ruscoe - time to cool off mate. There were several posts from other people which referenced sail numbers and sales and so on. Nick was good enough to provide current data to satisfy those questions even though it could be considered commercially sensitive. In a thread devoted to the RS100 its also 100% on topic.

Your posts may not have been intended to be hostile and aggressive, but boy it comes over like that. Perhaps you need to reconsider.
