All I will say is from experience do not go with W.H. I found them to be slow and expensive.

I hope Noble are reading this - I might get a discount.  I need one because they are expensive but they don't quible and they are fast.  If you sail a high performance boat and value you're time afloat they are the company, but it come at a price.

I was going to go with Bishop Skinner until I read this in their policy

"We will not pay for loss of or damage to masts, spars and fittings, sails and standing or running rigging while You are racing Your boat."

Don't like the wording of that.

Still looking. Looked at Newton Crum but they were expensive, as well as Noble.

Mark BS website says they cover full racing risks? see http://www.bishopskinner.com/dinghy_insurance.html

My current insurance is with Newton Crum but due for renewal soon. I've always found NC to be cheapest, but have to say when I had a claim to my Mirror many years ago (not my fault) they were pretty slow at dealing with it and made me take the boat miles. Being much older and wiser now they wouldn't get away with it again (and I would change at the drop of a hat if I got the right deal). Will be shopping around at the Dinghy Show if there are any insurers there?

Garry Yes it does say full racing risks at the start of the page, but later on it mentions about spars not being covered whilst racing.

Confusing or what.

I have snapped two masts since christmas one on my 505 on new years day at leigh and lowton and one on my contender .Ive now got a new on for the 50'  but it took a while (only got it last thursday) but think it was the suppliers rather than the insurance. The contender is going to be about another month or so  but again think its due to the rarity of aluminium proctor masts .I'm with Noble by the way and although theyv'e been good hope I don't have to go through the rigmarole cos ive hardly been sailing since last year.BTW do you think my premium will go up next year by any chance as when i payed they seemed to have fixed rates for different boats,
