I apologise in advance for bringing up the dreaded topic of handicaps
Again as I know it's not a very popular topic but I'm going to anyWay.
My question is regarding if theres been any thoughts or discussions
On what the py for the smallest 7m2 sail may be. Not sure if numbers have
Already been discussed in thread but I'm not aware of seeing it.
Cheers,
Keith.....

What is the situation with this rig? Is it now available to buy, i see it is on the ldc website for sale but out of stock.  I personally do not want one, i think its a bit of an ugly rig on such a modern looking boat, but thats personal taste and mainly due to me not needing one myself! I heard something about a different kite on it too, did this ever go any further?

On a different note, what events are planned for next year, or is that too far off at the moment..? I would be keen to know asap what events are planned so i can budget and combine them with the 2 keelboat campaigns I am doing this summer!

I had assumed the sail was available now but didn't notice the out of stock point.
As I find the 8.4 pretty powerful for my 65kgs I thought the small sail
May be good for heavy weather. bit what the big 10.2 guys are doing with
The 8.4. Just wondering if it's planning to have a different py? Don't want different kite with it!!!!!

Hi All -

My RS100 is for sale on the RS100 site and with Rodney Cobb (suntouched sailboats). I have decided to go back to Finn sailing, as the numbers for the 100 are low in Scotland and I'd like to travel to some events.
It's been a blast though and it's a great boat to sail.

The boat's in great condition and has all the bits (inc unused 10.2 sail). I can deliver down to the south when I pick up the Finn or meet part way. I'm based near Glasgow.

Shame to see you go Martin.
Your right that so far numbers North of the border are very low. Not actually sure how many are here but going on the zero responses to my note about Prestwicks regatta in May I dont think theres many?
I know a few guys at my club would love one but the cost of a new boat is currently prohibiting them. I'm hoping as a few more used boats come around that we might get more up here as new boat sails seem very low for any classes.
Good luck with the Finn.
Cheers,
Keith.

Keith I'll only sell if I get near the price, but it is a fair price. Let me know if anyone in your club is interested, I'd be happy to bring it over to let them look at it if they were serious.

All the best for the coming season. We have an open event on January 2nd first start at 11.00 with THREE races. You'd be welcome to join in. SI's on LSC website.

I'll get some photos of the boat posted up when I sail on the 2nd.

Cheers

you hav no idea how happy i was during that first photo (possibly so happy that i forgot to keep it flat through the bear off) because;

a) despite an atrocious start buried under a bunch of 200s followed by a beat where i seemed to be haunted by that bloomin' Comet Race i still made it to the top mark first Tongue. the fact that i did it in the second race too was a bonus.

b) i've become increasingly paranoid from racing against merlins and flying fifteens for the last few months that either me and/or the boat is just not quick enough upwind. having kept pace with the 400s and kept pace with the other 100s (and on occasion Tim's D-one) i came home rather uplifted and looking forward to the season ahead.

the second photo shows just how much i need to work on my downwind pace, Chris Larr (176) is soooo much quicker, possibly because he's 10kg short of a full hamper the swine, both races i was in front at the first mark and behind him by the bottom. could be something to work on at the training weekend...

Also chris is a very quick sailor and he is very fast downwind aswell as up and it seems like he has got to grips with sailing it now.
Retired now after 35 seasons in a row and time for a rest.
