No worries - hope to get you a sail in it at some stage.

If you know of any Tewkesbury sailors heading along, please let me know via a pm. It would be good to say hi, and perhaps arrange a visit earlier than your Sept regatta.

If you are near London and were interested in the boat, do come along.

Couple of pics from yesterday and one from Cookham Reach in the prototype.

I like to take pictures of sailing, but I'd rather be sailing!

A big thank you to everyone at Haversham SC for making Martin so welcome last weekend..... what an incredibly friendly club!
Amongst others who had a go in the X1 were the youngest crew so far - with a combined age of 28 years (yep, that's 17 and 11!)..... fantastic! And (with the smaller sail) this was in 15+ knots! Quite a few capsizes, naturally, but no problems getting the boat back up. There may be some pictures circulating at some stage.

We'll be along tomorrow Saturday at Hollowell SC Open Day in Northampton and looking forward to it (Hog Roast in the evening I believe!). If you are anywhere in the vicinity, do come along and check out the Club and the boat!

And thank you to the nice people at Ranelagh SC who are allowing us to join in their evening series this summer with both boats (one is on open offer to any Ranelagh SC members), starting this Tuesday and Wednesday. If you are stuck in London at some stage this summer on a race evening, then, again, come along and check out the club and the boat! (They can't be 10 mins walk from Putney Bridge tube station).

There's a great video shot by Tom Gruitt during the Y&Y test at Hayling Island that he's said we can mention now.... so here goes:

Actually it's REALLY worth going to Tom Gruitt's page for the above Y&Y video and going full screen (bottom right of the video). See:

It's a fantastic video, well done and thanks Tom!

Looking at that video, marketing the boat purely as an inland one for small water would seem to be a mistake! Looks great on the sea.

Just read the excellent review in the mag. Looks like a nice boat with the ability to run on tidal rivers when asymetrics can be a pest.
Only thing I don't like is relatively high price..... Maybe I'm just out of touch these days.
