Looks a fair bit of work. But lovely boat when you have finished. Are you going to add wings?

A shame you're not keeping the back tank. They're much more practical than B bags.

Disagree about that Tom, easier to drain with bags.

After having another look today I'm now in two minds about what to do, the transom isn't neat at all inside the tank.
May put a new top on the tank instead. What do people think? Dan |

3253 has an extension to the back tank, not full width, so it gave you a lovely place to sit slightly inboard nearish the back...
I mean it gives more weight positioning options while dynamically balancing the boat downwind for optimum performance... phew, I think I got away with it... |

Repeatedly replacing bouyancy bags when they perish in the sun = BADScrewing fittings for bag retaining straps into thin hull planks = BAD
Add some big drain tubes?

Fair enough Mike, I was only speaking from my experience, I always found back tanks easier to sail and drain without two massive yellow racing marks strapped to the boat. You should probably listen to Mike, he knows at least 70% more than me. |

![]() Why would he do this I find myself wondering, last time he messed about with wood, even the woodworm packed their bags before he launched it. So why? Has he taken leave of his senses totally? Then it came to me. Woman. There's a woman involved and she's addled his brain. That's the trouble with them when they're this 'age', born in bed with a woman and never got over the shock..

I always found sailing the 12's I've had with bags very comfortable. And less of a trip hazard on a gnarly jibe than the edge of a rear tank! |
