It's really hard for me to see the UFO as having reasonable speed when not foiling. In the first regatta where they got a fleet, they were beaten across the line by boats with a yardstick around the same as a Pico, if I recall, and that was in flat water.
That seems to indicate that it's not going to be a very popular racing class. Incidentally I ran the numbers for the A Class cats, which show an increase in class membership of only around 20-30 members worldwide since they started foiling. One Who Would Know said that the problem with attracting early adopters is that they go off and adopt something else when they get lapped.

The UFO is supposed to be under 8000 dollars, that's more of a peoples foiler.

with all the "weather" we're having i thought id roll back to my last sail, Barts Bash in the RS800 with the family, was looking forward to getting out this weekend but looks like i'll have to wait a couple more weeks.

This is what I'd love to see more of. Videos showing general racing technique with comments on tactics. Far more useful (and more interesting in my opinion) than the millions of videos of boats flying along in heavy winds.
