Hoping for some help on this one.... someone has bought a mini 12 / illusion to our place to race and we can't find any kind of PY for it.
Ive looked at various association sites and no joy .... anyone have any ideas at all?

I remember that they used to sail off something similar to a Mirror. There is a fleet at Bembridge Sailing Club on the IOW so they may be worth a try.

Hi fleaberto,

If you look at last year's club results at West Kirby S.C., they used a P.Y. of 1432 -

They are a scaled version of Lionheart, the British challenger for the 1980 America's Cup http://www.illusionclass.org/

I'm guessing he's got a mini 12 which it is isn't it , as opposed to a 12 m which it isnt , funnily enough a 12 m isnt 12 metres if you get my drift . Wink

If anyone has a copy of the keelboat RCR around, the PY may be in there?

It's not in the keelboat RCR (I would have remembered seeing it when I compiled the listings) and we only race as a class at Bembridge.  That said, there are quite a few Illusions at West Kirby, so the PY figure they use is likely to be the best starting point you'll get.

Better still, if you get a second one you can start match racing them: http://www.yachtsandyachting.com/news/?article=155632

There used to be a fleet of Illusions at Tamesis SC years ago, try their website.

Yeah, we ran it off a Mirror PY first time out - whole fleet lapped it and he still finished third LOL  Them's the breaks i guess.
