Last weekend I took my son to Portsmouth and, as I had travelled from the Midlands to get there, I thought I would take a detour on the way back to visit the hallowed waters around Hayling Island. As I was driving around the Island taking in the views I came across a curious beach which was restricted to HHS members. HHS is the Hayling Health Society, so a question to anyone who is a Hayling Island local, what is or who are the Hayling Health Society and what do they do?

I used to go to Hayling a lot when I lived nearby and never came across that beach, but from the name and the desire for a private beach, they sound like naturists?

It wasn't a particularly private beach as I could see it from the road. It had little huts on it, some of which had curtains in the windows. It just seemed a curious little beach.

Where exactly?

I think it was in the south west of the Island, but I'm not familiar enough with the Island to give you any better info than that.
