Im looking at altering my trapeze hook so that wire to wire tacking is easier so I can leap out of the boat before hooking on then hook on with a simple  movement of the hips,

Ive seen 2 systems which are popular a ready ring which seems to stay more in position when you leap out, and a wand system which uses pipe and keeps the trapeze rigid, this seems popular within my contender class but it looks complex to fit.

Does anyone know which system is best and where I can buy the bits?

Matt, on contenders the wand system works best.  Talk to Soren on the Yahoo forum - he makes and sells them, but could also send you pictures and details of how they're made.  They are pretty simple: a thin pipe/tube with a line inside connecting a trap ring at the bottom to a clam cleat at the top.  The pipe is a fixed length, you then alter your height on the wire with a block system just like you usually use above the pipe, it just means cutting your trap wires shorter to allow for the length of the pipe.  I know Soren has diagrams of all this.  I will try and find them for you.  I found the fixed rudder for the boat today (in my neighbour's garage) if you are interested in it let me know.

have you also seen his videos?

OK will do.
Ive seen some pictures and people in the class seem to be keen on that system, and I notice that the way the adjustment works you are always the same distance from adjustment, high or low wiring,
No i havent seen his videos

Ill email you about the rudder

you do need the hook on your harness for the sheet - the one shown on the MPS bimbles page is the best I've seen.

Yes ive read into the hook idea, a velcro strap seems quite a good way of holding the main sheet as well on the harness as it can just be tugged out during a capsize.

I emailed you about the rudder.

thanks
Matt
