the sad thing is that 8.30 is my lie in on sunday!!!
but holidays - now that's different. was my knees that were knackered aswell, but it dosn't seem to affect hiking or anything which is good |

She got a spray top, a pair of sailing shoes, a body board, 2 PS2 games (do I see a pattern there?), TONS of clothes, handbag, books galore... AND she has 4 friends coming here tomorrow night for a sleepover AND there are parcels coming from France... Lucky or what??

Just going back to the knee's thing... I have bad knees and I was referred about 8 years ago now for Physio. For me it did not work (I have over developed mucles in my legs from cycling and sailing). What I find works wonders are the neoprene knee supports (if wearing a shortie or shorts and t-shirt) or normal tubi-grip if wearing a drysuit. I do find when I wear my full wetsuit that it provides enough support on it's own (if they are really bad I crew the Fireball, can't beat a bit of standing around )Just my 2p.... lol ok i will bear that in mind, i have only been going to physio for a couple of weeks, and i have all sorts of things that 'arent problems' but put together make my knees painful. and yeah some of my muscles are overdeveloped (or some are underdeveloped depending on what way u look at it) so im looseing some and strengthening others. I always found that thoese knee suports tended to push down on the top of my knee cap, not good, and on the standing bit i tend to lock my kneecaps which is painfull so i shouldnt stand around for long periods of time ------------- http://theramblingsofmyinnergeek.blogspot.com/ |

Unfortunately sailing (and cycling) do tend to over develope the Quads (and underdevelop Hams and Glutes), which can produce knee problems. Also many sailors have lower back issues due to extensive hyperextensions. It's now 1.30 am and I think they're getting into bed. There's been a lot of giggling and screaming earlier (gosh they can scream....it's scary how much noise 5 girls can generate). They've had their midnight feast and played all the games they could think about... they're giving up the fight, I think It reminds me: there's a little zoo / adventure place not far from here, called Drusillas. Ever been there? Ohh you must if you're near, it's great! In the park, there is a scheme called Zoolympics. You can measure how far you jump, how fast you run, how long you can hold your breath, HOW LOUD YOU CAN SCREAM. Next to each Zoolympics station, a board tells you about peformances in the animal world. Elodie scored a 111dbs in the screaming booth last time! They finally fell asleep at 3am... But they're still little girls at heart: up bright and early at half seven, ARRGH! As for the pillow fight, they found an alternative: popcorn fight!!! It's all over the floor, mixed with the spilled drinks... yummy Anyway, they've had a great time and really, I enjoyed it too!
