I've got the opportunityto stay at a friend's place in Annecy this summer, I was thinking of towing my dinghy down there and sailing it on the lake.

Has anyone else done this? - is there anywhere you can launch from - are there any fees I would need to pay?

Any suggerstions or advice gratefully received.

I've kayaked, swam and drunk next to it.  Absolutely gorgeous place, love it.  Great for mountainbiking, which was my main reason for being there.

I found in my limited time there that the wind was light to non-existent in the morning and it then filled in from the town end and built up pretty well blowing offshore from Annecy. There were some cats that were going great guns at the time that I was kayaking back upwind!

Apart from a few beach cats, I noticed that there were mostly yachts.  Its a typical mountain lake with steep sides at the shore, so keelboats are very comfortable.  There are a number of slipways and I saw some ski boats, so I'm sure that launching can be arranged easily and possibly for free - worth checking with the tourist information.

The main thing I remember was that the lake was really warm.  I was there in August and the lake water was lovely to swim in.

Generally, can't say enough good things about the place.  In fact I love the whole area around there at any time of the year.  Very  jealous!!!!

Thank you Robert, I missed that.

Has anyone sailed a trailer sailor on Lac Annecy recently?

Have windsurfed on it donkeys years ago, but even then there were strong laws regarding licenses and buoyancy which we were not particularly adhering to at the time.. Echo everyones sentiments about it being a great place.

There's someone on the Wayfarer Facebook group who was sailing there last week. Looks lovely and campsite nearby too.
