Well if your going to sail your boat for the first time then choose a nice day, if your going to capsize your boat, then don't do it in front of a camera held by another forumite! Sorry Russ had to be done...

(I take it the daggerboard is to blame, lol)

Hats off to him, this occured 2 minutes after launching and was before the start.

Well done Merlinboy, great effort.

(photobucket is compressing my pics which makes them look pants)

Classic Forumite Quality

Merlinboy deserves to be knighted, for services above and beyond..

Arise Sir Merlinboy!

This has to be my favorite, I wish it had zoom capabilities to capture the
expression.

Definitely a 'Mr January' in next years Calendar..

At least he had a smile on his face ...

Could have something to do with the fact he is mounting the boat though!

What on earth did you say to be embarrassed like that

He must have know you were going to be cruel enough to gloat at beating a Phantom!

Well done ,, wish I had finished.

Nice to see everyone. Look forward to the next.

Cheers Simon  'Coastbuster 1359'

I dunno the photos must of been taken by a phantom owner!!

Cheers Simon.

I wish i was but sadly i doubt it, i was so, rusty which is not good when you are as poor as i am anyway!  I am hoping to get some more practice in before the next round of the sailJuice global warming thing.  May pay Draycote a visit.

In a pursuit race only the slowest boat has a true start sequence (5,4,1, go etc..), so surely in a pursuit race all boats are 'racing' from the starting sequence of the first boat? Otherwise you could have a bump with a slower boat about to start: 'sorry mate, didn't see you there", finishing their race and get away with it??

I agree. I would have gone if the boat wasn't upside down in a garage being painted.

Plus its fun to pull russ's chain

You are absolutely right the Topper and other kids boats had already started, technically from my point of view i hadnt started sailing yet and was about 5 yards from the jetty edge!!

In all seriousness i have several blood blister on my hands, which i have been told is early symptons of frost bite or frost Nip!

Oh dear just epoxy them then they wil be fine. Thats what you tell me to do with breakages on my boat.

As you said in all seriousness if you have then go and see the doctor or something
