Girl friends that hate sailing are great. The ones that can't stand sailing completely are the best. They get bored of hanging about sailing clubs and reach the stage where they hate the thought of going near them. I actually went out with the girl for a few months more and it was quite interesting because she seemed like she was wanting to prove a point. Wouldn't even try the 14 'steaming'. Had a bad experience with the
49er, still drunk from the night before, thinking there was no wind the
next day. Guess what...... 30+ knots, big waves and two sailors
stumbling about wishing they'd stayed in the pub the night before. I
had the easy job, just hook into foot straps and hold on but I felt
really sorry for the crew........ until we ended up swimming.

The worst bit is where the hangover kicks in whilst your on the boat
and it's a really hot day and there is no wind. Seen some collegues be
craftily sick over the leeward side of a Wayfarer whilst the pupils
aren't watching. Even funnier when the pupils are hungover, brilliant
banter on the boat.
