There's a great picture of a 29er on the contents page
of the latest issue of Y&Y.

Sadly I study these type of close ups trying to
understand all the different methods and nuances in the
rigging of different boats.

What's the shock cord for that goes through the the
block on the end of the strop? I've also noticed it on
the 49er in the Higher and 'give it some salad' Faster
DVD. I guess it's for taking out slack but surely the
sail would do that anyway?

If it's going through the block i think its to take the slack out of the mainsheet in lighter winds? On the 49er there is also a piece of elastic or taught string to stop the tiller extensions going under the wings. I think most twin tiller'd boats have something similar

If it was twin tiller I'd certainly reckon it would be to stop the tiller going too far out the back, but I really can't see why that would be needed on the single tiller 29er.
