Sailing on the Combined Service Team.  Can't wait.  Have waited since I first started team racing to make it to the Wilson.  Fulfilling a dream.

Last time I went, my crew ended up in hospital having been set upon by a group of local kids.
The formal dinner is just awesome, and have provided some of the best food fights ever!

Far be it from me to point out the obvious but that looks like an aircraft carrier to me..... (don't know many airfields with a low safety fence at the edge of the runway or a control tower that looks like a ships bridge).

If you want to up the pedantry, it's a US Navy aircraft carrier- those are F14s.

The wilson is a very big team racing event which is held every year.  Just go to google and type in .....'wilson trophy'

BTW team racing is where you all work togther as a team, that's usually 3 boats, to try and beat the oppositon on combined points.  It involves co-operation, thinking ahead, intimate rules knowlege...you wouldn't enjoy it.

Might surprise you to know thanks to quite a close relationship with Eric
Twiname I got half decent at it in the early '80's he was a handy team racer
and advice from him was worth its weight in gold.

And I/we did enjoy it, narrowly missed going to the team worlds in Sardinia

what a great weekend!!

WKSC as ever did us all proud, loads of good racing, great socials, warm welcome and a fab venue as ever..

For a lesson in team race starting then watch the http://www.wksc.net/wilsontrophy/results.asp - starts of the final races at
http://www.wksc.net/wilsontrophy/results.asp

The select the video - each race was filmed separately but turn your sound down as it's mainly wind noise..or distorted commentary..

WKSC in grey, Larchmont in blue.
