Sorry Phil you should have said hi, you could have had one of
Headfry's quadruple choc cookies!!!
I'm afraid I was in a bit of a daze all weekend, every way I turned more
people... Saturday was sooo busy and somehow I fitting in packing on
Friday night... flew out straight after the show on Sunday (to NZ, so noone
felt at all sorry for my stressed state!)
PS the credit for the forum's creation has to go fully to Mark, all his
work... and it's the members that make it what it is.

I kind of did, right at the end of saturday when you came for an amble round the Ovington stand, said Hi, but I was a bit tired & spaced out too, and didn't introduce myself, my fault. Maybe next year if not before.

Ah ha... I sort of place you now, Sorry I was probably not quite my chatty
self. I was having a look at the B14 thinking the racks looked a dran site
wider than I remember them being when I used to sail them and thinking
how good the boat still looks - they're a lot of fun and so cheap to pick
up secondhand, shame more people aren't switched into them. I think
that was my first amble anywhere having been on the stand most of the
day - I never did get a really good look round... but between us all we
went to see every single class at the show.

Gael by any chance did u see the hurricane 5.9, with the sx kit on the boat. It was its first proper outing at the show?
|
Posted By: Phil eltringham
Date Posted: 10 Mar 05 at 4:37pm
Well if anyone wants a second hand B14 they better be quick, the class is going through something of a renaissence at the moment, and there are only a couple of second hand boats on the market now. You should come along to an event Gael, there is usually someone looking for a crew.

Hi Hurricane, no I didn't get out much! But I know one of the team
went to see the Hurricanes.
Phil is the class still pretty absent on the female front - when I was doing
it it wasn't unusual to be the only girl, and as we shared a circuit with the
49ers, we were a bit outnumbered, not that I'm saying that was a bad
thing!

Lol, souds good but slightly intimidating.

Its definately better than that now, there are a few couples on the circuit now (even more this year I think) and there were a lot of girlies interested in the class at the dinghy show. I have a female crew too (although that is somewhat dependent on finding enough money for her to go to the worlds in Sydney, so any tips on finding a sponsor would be very much appreciated).
Proof that girlies do sail B14s - even with me (oh and yes it is my litle ego trip for today, taken on the sunday before the dinghy show, at south shields)

P.S. the walls sticker was there when I go the boat and I can't get it off

Small companies such as bike or car garages seem to like having their names on a sail and give you money for it !
Well my sail has a bike sponser on it
