Hi all
I have just got a second-hand very clean white kite for my MPS in good condition,
I cannot stand sailing with dirty white sails so if you sail inland you need good housekeeping or it will soon get dirty?
I have used this high definition wax on both sides to keep it clean, it is salt resistant and has uv light qualities.
The kite is now 100% waterproof and water just sits on top and just rolls off, the only down side to this wax is it turns white after three months but as the kite is white no problem.
I think it is better then fabsil. I used fabsil last time and it worked so well that you cannot use slip and glide after as it just goes to droplets and rolls off,

I think fabsil makes the material stretch but works well, this kite was too good to use fabsil as too new.

As to this wax I have no idea if it has a detrimental effect to the fabric, it made the white kite slightly transparent.

This High Grade Car Wax Is designed to be used on fine quality paintwork where the owner wishes to achieve a winning shine, used by many in the detailing world.

High Definition Wax imparts a lustre and depth of shine normally only found on the most expensive hand built cars.

High Definition Wax contains a carefully balanced blend of durable polymers, Carnauba wax and microcrystalline waxes, combined with selected solid saturated hydrocarbons and oils. Surfaces treated with High Definition Wax display very high gloss combined with exceptional resistance to environmental contaminants e.g salt, detergents, UV light, acid rain, industrial fallout etc, as you would expect from a high grade carnauba car wax. If you are interested in entering the car detailing world then this is the best car wax for you.

This optimum car Wax is free of all harsh abrasives, water and emulsifiers

Wrighty,

You don't by any chance work for a manufacturer of fine quality, high definition car-wax, do you ?

Car wax .. on my kite?

I think not.

Half a bottle of Aston Martin (Official showroom!) polish on the decks of my boat .. Now thats what I call a shine!

Typical ! ..........youth of today - leaving their dirty unpolished Aston Martin in the club car-park whilst sailing a Vareo so shiny that it causes others pain just to look at it...

Just about Nigel! I did some repairs over the summer, T-Cutted them, and a friend had half a bottle of said polish left (Did some CNC work for a repair to something on an Aston) and managed to blag the polish from the workshop!

Hi again

NO I do not work or have shares in this product. The main point is for a half new kite is it better then fabsil or seal and glide?

There are some clever readers who know about materials and what will help and what will rot.

Thanks

 Chris

Which of the *many* Yahoo groups? I rarely check the email address it goes too, just the groups themselves directly!

This wax is great for cars, it is very exspensive but my car still looks like it has just been waxed three months on. I wash the car with only water and the dirt just drops off. I must be the first person to try this product on a sail/kite and no reply to any post on the mps or 700 forums so no one knows the answer.

I hope it will keep my kite clean and waterproof. Time will tell. I put it in water and it comes out dry so far. as for what this wax is, below the link.

Looking at what it contains, it shouldnt do any harm to the kite, im still a little hesitant to use it on my own though.
