Yup, will be there in the Moth, assuming the forecast doesn't include ice/snow...
Its usually a good blast and the format lets you watch the other fleet racing while you have a cup of tea.

For me , rubbish! There was very little wind really, My arse is to fat for a 200 in light airs, also i was unlucky with some of the boats that finished behind me that got average lapped i think!! Nice course, well organised, good food, great event!

I agree with Merlinboy, Nice course, well organised, good food and a great event. Absolutley loved it, a great day! Only serious problem was just how long it took me to sail in for dinner, as the wind completely died for a 20 min period at the start of the end of race 1! I really enjoyed racing against so many boats, and it was great to see such a variety of classes represented.
I was very pleased with my result, I was not last! Think there were 52 singlehanders and I was 44 or 45th, which having only been racing seriously for 2 seasons, and Grafham at xmas being my first big event, I was very happy with!
Anyone seen a full list of results published yet?? cant find on eon here or NSC website.

Tell you whats pising me off! All of the photos from the event tend to be either from the foiling fleet (of which ther were 5 -7 boats) and the symetric fleet!!

After just looking at the photo galley I think that the main fleets all got a fair show of photos.
Phantoms,Merlins,RS fleets all seem to have a fair share.
Foiling moths/600`s,eye catching and people like to see foilers! - fair
Assy boats didn`t seem to have more then their fair share of photos for my point of view.
Feel free to disargee.

No we weren`t,I was looking in the Y&Y photo Galley ( via the front page link ) & because you didn`t mention the Fotoboat selection,No one was to know otherwise.
However the Y&Y should give a more varied selection due to the fact that they have already sold the pictures to the mag,Where fotoboat needs to sell to the owners, spectors & people who want an "all action " shot.
Foilers,Assy`s,Trap`s all give the impression of speed & splendor where as hikeing boats rarely give this impression even though they are the more popular style of dinghy sold & sailed in the uk.
This may explain the differant styles of photo`s found between Y&Y & Fotoboat.

Sorry Bert but i don't agree, I have checked through both sets of photos and they are the same, (Y&Y from fotoboat) Both Y&Y and fotoboat only really show the Symmetric and single handed fleets. The Y&Y Photos have 1 picture of a cherub, 1 of the assy fleet start, 1 of a 400 and 1 of a Vareo. They hardly bear reference to the 50 odd assy boats which had their own fleet start. On the other hand there are loads of pictures of the foilers of which there were only 6-7 tops!!! Chunky pics have a only posted up pics of the foilers. Hardly seems like a fair cross section of the boats entered!

Might have been a question of light or something... Where they were when some wind came through: all sorts of variables. Maybe some batches of photos worked better than others. The one Cherub shot looks pretty dull, yet we know there was enough breeze for a different Cherub to win the class...
Its funny about photos. Since the digital revolution its all become so much easier. When I first set up the Cherub website, back in about 95 so probably before some of you were born, it was a real issue trying to get hold of some half decent photos to put on the website, what with copyright release and so on... I have I think one half decent photo of any of my boats from before 95, and any number since!
