This query does really seem to fit under any category but hopefully someone has some ideas.

I currently have to keep my Mylar sails (I have an RS) at home and therefore take them to the club each time I intend to sail. This can be a pain & takes up an enormous amount of space in the car (as they are draped from the boot through to the front seat). There is no where at the club to store them. Anyone any ideas about  outdoor storage boxes - or anything that I could keep them in adjacent to my berth ?

You could do what the Cat's do and have a box located within your berth but it all depends on what your club rules are as to whether you can do this.

What you want is something heavy enough not to nick and also secure to store it in. I have seen garden storage bins in use, we had one for the cat that was plastic and robust but light and secure so it all depends on what the club allows

I assume that these boxes were long enough to take rolled main sails. Are pointers where to look ?

buy a really thick drainpip and bolt/ chain it to your trailer. then buy the screw on end pipes. not done it personally but a few at my club trail boats that way...

silly question maybe, but why not just store them in the boat?

Small animals, Nosy people, and it can get damp under a cover.

Yes, I would love to store them in the boat but the local wildlife tend to feed on sails / sheets.

The drainpipes look good - alternatively perhaps I need to petition the club to provide a container.....

If you're club is fairly safe I would just leave them in the boat- I left 800 sails in the boat. As long as the transom is off the floor not too many animals should get in.

Would recommend taking the spinnaker home though! Having sails in car wasnt too bad if going straight to sailing club but a pain if you have to go to work etc first

If your club has a locked boatshed, just get a small mezzanine built a couple of feet below the ceiling and slide them in there.
