A funny thought has come to mind......
Any one ever used a dinghy to 'sail' in the snow (not talking about ice sailing here) just plain, good, old fun stuff.

would a topper be any good, centre or dagger boards up, I guess would help !

what boat would you use if the conditions were just right ?

Yeah, i would prb bet on the 'surfer being better... less weight would def be the ain of the game!! however a skateboard deck an big kite could be fun... dunno if it would work though...

I have heard of people trying to sail plastic oppies on ice covered lakes using paddles to steer, this may be an urban ledgend tho.

I have tried using a windsurfer rig on a skateboard tho, works pretty well, steering is fun!!

imagine 6ft deep powder with no nasty rocks hiding under the snow - I'd try and go for it in a skiff - there must be some crazy canadian or swede that's already done it though...

THAT'S where the 6ft powder belongs!

I was half-expecting here an answer for the other thread... That would certainly increase the degree of confusion.

It's supposed to give the idea of a link between Britain and France

Not great, I know, but it's work in progress... I haven't got a clue how to design a website in the first place! However, there might be changes tonight - friend of mine's coming here to help - and I need all the help I can get!!!

Watch that space....

I've tried a 5o5 jib held up by an old mast on a luanching rolley with a wheel at the front.  Not on snow but on a football field.  Scarrily fast in a force 7.  It all came to an end though when a prat went through the goal mouth (the rig didn't).
