on this under rig it says either S or U

what do they mean/stand for

the status also confused me.

also there are 2 entries for the RS feva:

RS FEVA

number of person:2

rig:S

spinaker:A

py:1189

status:R

and this one:

RS FEVA XL

number of person:2

rig: S

spinaker: A

PY: 1200

status:T

anyone understand the table that can explain it to me?
its the 2 feva entries that get me the most.

Rig
S= Sloop (ie Main and Jib)
U = Una (ie single sail)

Status
P=Primary Yardsticks: are PNs well attested by many clubs over several years
S=Secondary Yardsticks: are similar to Primary Yardsticks but not as well attested
R=Recorded Numbers: are PNs published on the basis of limited information
T=Trial Numbers: are allocated by clubs until a Club Number can be allocated

See http://www.rya.org.uk/assets/technical/Web%20Documents/2008%20Portsmouth%20Yardstick%20Scheme/2008%20FAQ.pdf - http://www.rya.org.uk/assets/technical/Web%20Documents/2008% 20Portsmouth%20Yardstick%20Scheme/2008%20FAQ.pdf

The two Feva handicaps are for the Feva and the Feva XL. The XL has a battened mainsail, the Feva has a Soft unbattened sail. Although the numbers do seem to be the wrong way around, but that could just be that the Temporary XL number has not caught up with the Recorded number for the Standard Feva.

The numbers for the Feva are indeed odd, and I'd suggest that they are the wrong way around.

We used 1189 for the XL and in our returns it wasnt far out, if anything it probably needs moving to 1175 ish !
