ok so the volvo's just kicked off and I'll be following / cheering for Green Dragons featuring our very own Ian Walker and Ian Moore, and a number of other talented british/irish sailors...

Shortly the Vendee single-handed race is off, not sure who to cheer for in that one.. probably Brian Thomson and Sam Davies who seems to be working hard to get all the skills together (being a bit of a fittie helps with my vote too.)

Now I read that there's another RTW race - the http://www.yachtsandyachting.com/news/?article=143796 - portimao something or other in Class40's sailed either 1 or 2 up.  Does anyone (other than sailors friends and family and the promoters) actually care about this last race? Will anyone actually be at all interested in the reports on Y&Y about a bunch of sailors who (with the greatest of respect for their efforts) the average armchair fan has probably never heard off...

I have to agree there seems to be to many now. The last one I really followed closely was The Race, since then they all seem to be on TV in the middle of the night or on Sky and none of them have gripped my attention.
