Go to a shop and buy a new one...

Given that a harness is the one piece of windsurf kit that will last you for years and years (provided you don't leave it on the beach) then I'd go buy one from new. That way to can ensure it's the right fit - Dakine for example come with a choice of 4 different sizes of spreader bar..

You're talking around 3 pints of beer a year (£10) for a new harness based on it lasting 7 years which is not unreasonable...Would you buy a second hand trap harness of ebay hoping it would fit ok?

bit of a rant comming

i did say that i cant afford a new one. i spent thousands on sailing kit

custom harnesses, full offshore gear ect and windsurfing is just for when it is blowing,

just trying to find some cheap kit

What size board are you on atm? Surely if its windy you want a smaller board? When it's windy i'm only out on my 77L rather than my 104L.

How much do you want to spend? I picked up my current harness for £40 new from http://www.buckys.co.uk/ - funsport  and it's lasted me 3 yrs so far. I'd say get in some shops, show some interest and get dealing (you can easilly knock off 20-40% of the price). If not you could talk nicely to GBR884 he'll probably do a good deal as he gets stuff dirt cheap from his sponser (...it works for me (being his brother))!

He has a 2008 JP freestyle 99Lt if your interested? Its a amazing board and going fairly cheap because he's getting some 2009 kit!

Mark.

Ebay normally does a good job for older windsurfing boards.

When you do get better and using the harness and straps you will catch the bug and always be looking for bigger thrills. You weigh the same as me and i use a 104L freestyle board or my 77L wave board which when i'm not moving i cant float on or even uphaul on!

If you have no luck post on boards.com/forum as they are full off great tips and always have kit up for sale but not advertised.

Good luck and enjoy!

I've told you you can have it at a decent price!! if it's so amazing.....buy it off me!!

You can have my harness for £30........PM me if you want pix or if your interested  I'll just go buy a newer one as i'm looking for a reason to replace mine but can't think of one!!

Yeah you should be able to uphaul on it but it will take a bit of practise as at first you will feel like it just sinks or gets very tippy, when you get the sail clear of the water.

Where are you in Suffolk because you are more than welcome to have a go on my kit and see how you get on etc?

Adam
