| As you may know we will be holding the Olympics in 2012! Great! So here's the deal, the host country is allowed to include an extra sport/event for it's own Olympics. So, if your view which sport should we include that sums up "Bristishness" and which, obviously, no other country would have heard off so that we will be guaranteed gold? Bring back Tug-Of-War.
In fact, how about a Village-fete themed "hexathalon"* team event. Tug-of-War, 50m Egg-and-spoon, 50m Sack, 100m Wheelbarrow (over a 50m course, swap postions at the half-way mark), welly-wanging and standing long-jump.
*or possibly sexathalon, though with ~100,000 condoms used in two weeks by about 16,500 athletes, I think that event is already covered. So to speak. |

This one is not allowed. The event must be "Bristishness". If I recall correctly, this event was included by the Australians in the Sydney 2000 Olympics! |
