I am looking for suggestions for a make and model for a fishing boat
that is sail powered. My requirements are as follows: 16-18 ft trailerable each trip. easy to launch and retrieve singlehandedly (light) Good deck space for fishing to take an outboard quick and easy to take mast up and down Safe and stable. easy to sail. I have only come across two contenders, the Texas 380, which is a little too small, and the Ocqueteau Tipalia 6.50 Sail Boat, which is a bit big and heavy for single-handed launch and hasn't too much deck space for the size. Any other suggestions? I normally don't go any further out than about 10 miles, though usually fairly quickly with a 60HP Merc on the back of my current cuddy fisher... I expect I'd be doing it slower.....much slower! |

at 16 to 18ft - light is going to be a big ask. But the term is relative I suppose. Had a look at that, but seems a bit too dinghyish for what I want - looking for something with a better freeboard..... |

My current boat is 16ft and with engine weighs in at 660 kg, which I call light. I had a look at the Lugger (or even the Dabber) and they might suit. Are they sailable singlehandedly? |
