Not allowed a tow bar so Alison can have the loony machine when I'm away playing sailing.

Just ask the kids how fast she goes around the corners when I get back...

This was last years Comittee boat that started the 2007 ECPR

I am not sure ATM what is the 2008 comittee boat or whether HMS Blazer is going to return.

Ok, I'll see what I can do for you Simon.

I thought it was great going down to Bradwell in the morning with the tide, very peaceful!

On another matter, DOES ANY ONE NEED A CREW????

I'm shouting cos Ratface is desperate to do it, and I am sure someone may want a crew to do the race. If not I'll ask at the club.

John Tuckwell is looking for a crew : - http://www.f18.org.uk/forums.asp?messageID=2171 - http://www.f18.org.uk/forums.asp?messageID=2171

All being well I shall be there for this years driftathon.....

IMHO it needs to start an hour or two later. The first hour is generally spent drifting along the river with no wind.

Will be there with my T again but please take a look at the wind and see what is going on...

Take lots of money with you as you might have little else to do apart from drinking. There again drifting is an option!!

E.C.P.R 2008. Guess what......no wind. Sods law that the day before its overcast but force 4 and the day after its 25C and force 4! Such a pity as the organisation is top drawer.

I hope this is someone on here, don't recall him informing me of his sail number!
Captured this sailor on the way back past Bradwell, I spent the entire race moored off a cruiser watching the boats drift round the coast! BUT they did get up to Walton!

Fatbloke, what boat were you on?

I was on hurricane 389. We did finish the course eventually so must have drifted past you at some stage! (albeit, a later one than the T pictured). Despite the dehydration, sun stroke, bug attacks at sea & arc eyes, we fully intend to come back next year!

hey, that's me and Stuart on Stuart's boat.

I think we'd just fixed the Spi block by then.

There was some wind at times; We got twin stringing with the kite up a couple of times.  Then chucked it all away coming up the river while fixing the Spi block.

Slop_Idol - where were you????

I was on the Orange club rib on Saturday and then on Sunday spent most of the day moored up behind a cruiser on another Orange Rib just before the Weymarks/Bradwell Gate drinking tea!

Was a good day, and I did remember to take a pic of Simon. More pictures on my parents computer in Essex, will have to wait till I go back there.

Hope to see everyone next year!

Congratulations and thanks to all the organisers and course support boats. Yes it was light and quite tricky but I can't say that the guys infront of us were lucky, they consistently spotted the wind and sailed well to be in a position to be able to take the opportunities when they came.
A tough race but an excellent one. 10 out of 10 to Marconi.
Thanks and Regards

Yes, the whole course is amazing, shame the wind from Saturday didn't rub off on Sunday.

Those pictures of Simon are from my own camera, got bored so took a few, then we darted off back to the club. Rather cloudy so they don't look that great.

The official photographs are from Sally Hitt - http://www.themomentimages.com - http://www.themomentimages.com  Sally does a CD for the MSC Cadet Week and they are excellent quality. If you saw the BIG red RIB on Sunday, you will probably be captured on her camera!
