He does just seem to have amazing drive. DSQ in one race and in the medal race going out and nailing those he has to beat. You could not make it up.

This is what dinghy sailing is about.

Like some other things - sailing is more enjoyable when you do it with someone else

Agreed. Impressive that he managed to make up such a considerable points gap, and even more so how he consistently manages to perform under great pressure.

I really thought the French guy had it sewn up, but it just goes to show how match racing tactics can totally change an event.

If you can't carry it, don't sail it!

Yep - read the report after the penultimate day, and it look a toughie even for Ben. But I still wouldn't have bet against him, and again his ability under pressure shines through - simply a fantastic sportsman.

I wouldn't expect any Olympic-level sailor to be actually "scared" by his performance, but its gotta get ya just a little worried for Quigdao....

Is Ainslie actually human? He seems to delight in winning the hard way.

Ben's begining to get a reputation like Michael Schumacher as unbeatable.

We were speculating over the weekend what might of happened last summer if Grant Dalton had replaced Dean Barker with Ben Ainslie in the America's Cup.

The cup might be much healthier.
