Looks like a 2000 a little bit. Maybe a prototype?

If you can't carry it, don't sail it!

Nah ... Looks more like a Bahia .. Look at the bow.

Rig looks quite old and battered, so its not going to be anything made in the last 8 or so years ...

hmmm, one of my mates had an ancient 600, one of the first out the mould and it was very light but flexier than a flexy thing. he reconned if he took it out in a blow he could snap the boat in half.

I reckon keep your money, the boat is being sold by a trader as well! Unless you just want to break it or bits!

It is indeed an express. I remember one being sailed regularly many years ago at my old club. From what I remember it used to always sail in the slow fleet, i think the handicap was 130-odd (in old money!).

Definately an express I used to Sail one on the River Great Ouse as a Kid.  If you do buy it you'd need to put the crossmembers and deck in across the top of the Spinny chute as this adds a fair bit of rigidity to the hull. Other problem area is the C/B case as it is plywood they had a habit of rotting or coming unstuck!  Nice boats though, first boat I ever used a spinny in.

I might be sailing it, but it's still sh**e!

How can the seller not know what it is?  If it's an RS600 how is it possibly going to convert to a hiking boat.   Odder than odd.

Some people have no idea!!

Surely if he's a dealer he should know a bit better than recommending converting a 600 proto to hiker!!

Shall I email him and ask for some, and then post them here?
Or is that a bit harsh....

I think that I have seen this boat in Salcombe a few years ago, it looks a bit like a 600 with out racks, with a contender rig without the low boom.

I meant that boat! His gear is old stuff so probably wouldnt be bought by people on here!  Just think the way he advertises stuff is a little "far fetched"

fair play, I nearly bought a 300 of him when I was looking for one but ended up deciding against it.  By the time I had found one I liked I was a bit on the heavy side and opted for a phantom.

I've bought the odd mast off Keith before and found him very helpful and easy to do business with. Unlike the rest of us, he is trying to make a living at selling boat bits - I did the maths on it a few years ago, and decided it wasn't viable, so my hat off to him for trying.
