Anyone know the schedule for the 2008 Olympics?

All I really want to know is when the sailing is on, but I bet it doesn't get a lot of TV coverage.

Maybe if you press the red button..

The 49er class website says 9 - 23 August , not sure if thats just the 9ers or all of the sailing...

http://www.sailing2008.org/en/ - http://www.sailing2008.org/en/  - I am not paticularly good at finding things on websites as oyu might have realised... But it might be on there although I could not find it, even though it is probably in the most obvious place..

edit:

http://www.sailing2008.org/en/ww/Notice_of_Race_Draft_The_2008_Olympic_Sailing_Competition.pdf - http://www.sailing2008.org/en/ww/Notice_of_Race_(Draft)_The_ 2008_Olympic_Sailing_Competition.pdf

Nothing about specific class events.. Some rough dates for other sutff though

Also skim read parts of it, I love it how it talks about Propoganda in a notice of race....

9 to 21 August - If you click View Tickets button for the day you can see what is scheduled for that day. Not the best way to get the info but you can still manage.Hope this helps. Cheers

If I remember correctly during the 2004 games you could watch at least one "live" race a day, and many more highlights, that red button opens up many more channels that I am sure will get more publicity during the games, and dont forget that as things have progressed we can now see a lot of sailing tv on the net.

I think they are already working on how to improve the TV coverage available for 2012 Smile

The schedule I got from the offical web site said heats start Sat 9th Aug and seem to run all the way through the games.

There are 2 medal races on 16th, 18th, 19th, 20th & 21st and 1 medal race on 17th.

22nd to 24th are reserve days.

Unfortunately there was no indication of which classes were when. I assume the 49ers start early and finish late as they have more races than other classes.

At least with the events being in the morning means we don't have to suffer interuptions from Eastenders and Coronation Street.

Hopefully the BBC will get together some sort of schedule for the red button channels.

Hmm,  just wait.  I used to live the other side of the yellow sea from Qingdao.  In summer it was still, still, still.  Overcast, warm, rainy and erm ...... still.

I put money on having to use the reserve days due to lack of wind, and maybe even a few short series as they will probably be waiting for the wind on the 24th too.
