The Mirrors at the parents, the 200 and Laser are at an inland centre. The other 'alf works there so can check tomorrow if I did a good job or not. Should be ok though, quite sheltered.

Bit worrying for Starcross... This is what happened last time big winds coincided with spring tides and heavy rain....

Luckily it's a westerly, so it shouldn't be too bad....

I'm not really worried anyway, cause my laser is 5 foot up on a rack, and the merlin is in the garage...

High winds but nothing too damaging for us, advantages of being inland

Wish I could get this week off school for some windsurfing somewhere or other

Worth checking your insurance small print.  Cats often need their masts down to be valid at this time of year!

Lashed my boat down.  Then checked all of the other boats around her, didn't one of them to fly off and kill her.

Two days before I jet off to the sunny skies.  Sunfish, oh the joys, its a boat I guess.  Is it a boat?

For once I don't have to worry about the boat being blown over, it's currently in the living room getting painted!

One of the very few advantages of living alone, no one to complain about piles of boat bits on the floor and epoxy in the sink!

I'll post a picture when I get round to it, I put the foils on when it was upside down and they weren't far off the ceiling!

Just got back from bbsc, only three boats fell over, most noticeably a very pink cherub, the owner of which has been told to tie it down more than once

Why don't these Pratt's tie their boats down, if someone had been told by my club to tie there boat down and they hadn't and it fell onto mine i would be seriously pis s e d off, and they would feel my wrath!

Don't worry, I popped into Alton Water whilst doing some errands at lunchtime - the wind was surprisingly light and your boat was secure

Cheers,

Land-yachting around in Altons carpark?

Its a bit small .. but im sure it could be done!

(maybe even fit a windsurfing board under each side, and then go from land-yachting to ... well .. landsurfyachting? )

lol altons car park is a bit small... I was thinking the local field as thats only 2 mins away, and altons half an hour away so i wouldn't be able to get there after school!

edit -  I remeber one winter when some guys strapped a sail on a snow board and raced up and down the frozen entrance road towards the dam (before there were speed bumps LOL) and they were clocking over 25mph!!... yes, us suffolk folk let the fresh air get to our head

My boat has had water round the trailer wheels at HISC, and there are a lot of 200's blown over there.

Rob: down there most weekends in the summer.

haven't gone to check on the 14, but fairly sure it is perfectly fine seen as there is nothing but trees blocking the wind.
whereas the 200 is hopefully indoors with LDC as we speak!(or so i hope).

its windy at my house, neighbour got his kite out and gaffa taped his feet to his skateboard and had a play

What you guys done to the 200? You have only had it a month!

I flew my powerkite on the top carpark at Datchet, was funny cos there wasnt a lot of room for the direction the wind came!

Its those Catamarans you want to watch, they flip when the wind gets under them

The 14 will be fine, it weighs enough .

I finally got round to tying down FS on Sunday so hopefully it should still be upright.

I'm really worried for my boat . Not been able to get down to check tie downs etc. Several of the boats on my row I know are not tied down, and the wind has been blowing down the row so if one does go over it will take out a few..

Not seen it this windy in ages, yesterday i didn't think it was that bad till i went for a run and my time was 8 minutes slower than usual (I assume from the wind I was running into..)
