it seems a shame that UKCRA seem to be reluctant to pick up the opportunity to become THE controlling and representative body for cat sailing backed up with all cat racers as personal members.

events have shown the nationally and internationaly we cannot rely on the bodies that exist at present , namely the rya and isaf.

Cat sailors need a body to show their commitment to cat racing developement and training .

I want to join a body that will do this and i'm sure plenty others too , £10 a head for personal membership and boat sticker could generate a sizeable fund to get things moving , perhaps a UKCRA ( or whoever is prepared to do it) national champion - Grafham weekends would be good ,

our own cat show with on water taster session encompassing a regatta

regional champs etc

reinstate long distance series

I had hoped that when I saw the UKCRA press release perhaps it would have contained something on these lines , its not the first I or others have expressed these thoughts.

Some response from UKCRA on thoughts or intentions in addressing this very important NEED would be good .

I don't really understand UKCRA position in uk cat sailing at present other than the excellent catamaran.co.uk website I know they have also acted in our best interests in representations to the RYA , but under what mandate ,

but thats the perception I have .

Perhaps "the need " I identify is off the mark and my thoughts are alone ?

But if anything is to be done surely the time is now (infact was a long time ago and perhaps our voice may have been heeded )

mmm not a great deal of response eh ?

Or is the tumbleweed rolling down the street the ominous answer to my questions ??

I don't think my ideas ,comments are that far of the mark judging by others statements throughout other forums on the web , and by "weighty " names too

FElt the need to deface the olympic circles on my boat yesterday !
