How bad is it for sails? Especially spinnakers.

Pretty bad in general.  The little salt crystals rub the silicon coating off the kite and make it go soft more quickly.  The best plan is not to get it wet in the first place...

Similar story with laminate sails - get the salt off as it reduces life.
