18ft Skiff singlehanded.

Make a chute + pump up / down for the kite .... Sorted!

Edit - Think of it as a "Musto Skiff "XX"" or the "RS700 GTi"

Theres one on the old cherub website, right at the bottom. I wouldn't like to hoist the 49er kite, while trying to steer 12 ft boat with an 05' rules Cherub sized rig! But when you nail it, the ride must be awesome...

Ok, turns out some stupid by-law of Langstone, you cant sail a boat which doesnt have a PY number! As its a one off, its scuppered!

Hmm, if the club does not want to abide by the fundamental principles of the RYA Portsmouth Yardstick scheme then maybe they should stop using it. To quote:-

7.3 FOR A CLUB TO REFUSE THE ENTRY OF A BOAT BECAUSE IT HAS NO LISTED NUMBER IS CONTRARY TO THE PURPOSE OF THE PORTSMOUTH YARDSTICK SCHEME.

Isn't Langstone where the yardstick started in the first place?

You also need to get permission to use a boat with any kind of foils on it.

It is tempting but i have to finish the Canoe!!  That sailing club sounds rubbish! Can you actually not sail there without a PY or just not race??

Why not buy this to play with whlist working on the canoe?

Cos i cant afford to do both or either for that matter.  To be honest if i owned that Ronstan thing i would never sail it either!  I dont have the right water space near me or the abiltiy to sail it!  Just be nice to have it on my drive though!!

Yes having worked and sailed at Langstone Harbour for 3 seasons I sadly am familar with the byelaws.

the 10 knot speed limit apply to dinghys as well! (though i've never had my mates from work give me a warning when i've been sailing in my 14) though when arguing the poitn with my boss he said (jokingly i hope) to go slower just take the sails down! and yes any foiling boat has to request permission from the harbour master before sailing! (though again i've never enforced or seen that enforced!)

Tudor don't let boat without a PN into the club (the also thought my 14 was a 2000 so there we go) hence alex having to sell it (though according to Tudor I own it!)
