I have posted this on the Hornet website but want to reach a wider audience and all help would be appreciated.

After 30 years in a shed suspended from the roof and a further 3 years in a tennis pavillion Hornet 191 Shoestring has just been given to me. The Kite is cotton and made in Burnham in 1956 and the pole is shorter than me(which is short). Unlike my other planker 140 she is as original as the day she was built and in surprisingly good condition. The only bit missing is the wooden boom to go with the wooden mast.

She was last sailed sometime in the early seventies and over the next few months She will have a bit of an overhaul and cleanup and who knows we may turn up at an open.

I am trying to put together a brief history of this boat so If anyone has any pictures, stories, reminscenses or even a wooden boom or old size sails I would be glad to hear from you. If you know anyone who may not see this post but sailed Hornets in the 50s &60s please mention this to them.
