Since I'm a loyal forum poster what about the regulars here voting for me? Please!  Do I get the contender vote as I sail one of those as well and if I don't have to spend on the Lark I can get a new sail for that.

And for those voting for Kirsten remember she has a boyfriend

I see the Fireball won. Too right as well - anyone who tells us

"and the jib is mended with sellotape"

deserves help - I mean if they can't even afford Duck Tape!

Anyone any suggestions for the actual 'pimps'?

Mine would be a masthead asymmetric. I sailed the experimental asymmetric the class tried some time ago and agreed it wasn't worthwhile. However, I've learnt more since then and remember the experimental version was hoisted using the same mast sheave as a standard kite so it was woefully small.

If a really big asymmetric kite were fitted the thing would really fly.

Think the point is to pimp it back to racing spec for the class so we they can be competative

That's

A) Boring

B) Unrealistic. No matter how good the new sails, mast or fancy fittings, none of those boats will be remotely competative if put up against a New Winder / Vandercraft Etc.

So why not have a bit of fun and do something worthwhile with it.?

I had assumed they would follow the theme of the TV programme and go way over the top with the pimping ... I'm with Hector, they should really go for it ...

I suspect a nice set of LED downlights in the cockpit & wet look leather decks would be the business topped off with a mean sound system ...

Good idea - otherwise it will end up us "renovate my boat" and not pimp my boat. It has to become chavtastic - all pink sails perhaps????

Perhaps "pimping" a development class boat would have made slightly more interesting reading...

An old fireball with new sails? We've never seen that before! Can we have something a bit more imaginative please Y&Y.

I have abstained from voting.

They only have a limited time frame, so turning a 70's Cherub into a 2005 rules boat was probebly an unrealistic aim!

I agree, though, that the paint job is going to have to be pretty damm special.

I guess it has to stay class legal but that dosn't mean they can't create a real eye catching pimped Fireball ...

Lepoard skin effect sails with tinted windows of course ...

Lurid pink mast and stunning paint job.

Spinners on the trolley for sure ...

They have to be inspired by these images ....

Why has that boat got a football hung off the front of it?
