I'm thinking baout doing Abersoch dinghy week this year, has anybody here been? The reason I am asking is because in the NOR it sais tha each boat shall carry an anchor and at least 60ft of warp. Is this ruled ahered to in the dinghies?! I can't think of many places to put it!

ye i go to dinghy week every year (infact ive missed only one year since i was born, when i was in australia), the fireball fleet gets about 35 boats. Personally ive never used a anchor, and i dont think many people bother. (but i didnt say that)

I've never seen anyone carryone at dinghy week either. Does anyone at any of these types of events any more? Love to see how it would effect the performance of the hydrofoil moth!

You could always tie the crew to the end of the main halyard

In fairness it's not a bad idea.  It can get VERY windy there and if it gets stupid and you are tying up a rescue boat then they will do the "people first kit second" thing.  An anchored turtled boat will still be there a few hours later, an un-anchored one will not.

I have a small folding anchor you can borrow and some warp, I used to tape it under my thwart.  Fireball kite sheets are about 60' long if you really don't want to carry a separate warp!
