Say Hi ... If your kind I will move ... If not, I'll find a way of protesting

The fleets are split as fast / slow somewhere around the Fireball so FB = fast fleet, Merlin = slow fleet. looking at the wind forecast, the Merlins will be anything but slow  - I predict a win for them, with Phantoms also well up. Unless I can persuade my RS200 crew out of hibernation I'll be there in a Vortex - thankfully with an asymmetric. See you there

From Rutland website: First race NOON, Saturday. Three races back to back. Fast and slow handicap starts with timed laps. A (non-discardable) pursuit race on Sunday.

We'll be there in the B14, probably floundering in loads of dirty wind also... look out for a ridiculously orange spinnaker.

If you're on port, let us through... please?

Wind looks better on Sunday than Saturday too, better to turn up and start
drinking early, then recover in time for Sundays racing...

What am I on about - I dont drink! Oh well, need light airs practice...

We saw you struggling to foil...  Although we posted a terrible 128th on Saturday (I blame a 29er) we did a 16th on the Sunday in the pursuit race.  Skiff boats fairly dominated in the clear air, apart from the A-Rater which has a scandalous handicap.

Isn't that mainly because the Rater was about the only fast light air boat entered...

Don't look behind you!

Sunday Morning, Racing going to happen?

And of course, That Fool in the Vareo .. The one who wasn't moving when his start was called, and who the race comitee cheekily said "Vareo, Your start has already happened" too!

Man the A rater is huge, I've never seen one before! I want one for when there is no wind cos with a rig that tall it'll be in the clouds, even though there probably won't be any clouds if there is no wind! Ho hum

He turned up about 20 mins before we all started launching, and was on the start line with the rest of us!!

That mast is so big though ... It was overhanging his bonet by about a ft .... and it had about a foot overhang at the stern of the boat as well!!

They employ the ABN Amro grinder guy especially to hoist it for them, on a shore mounted grinder which he takes to every evnt with him!

Beautiful Boats the A Raters. Some have beer holders in them (for pint glasses)

I used to be enthralled by them when I was a bit younger then I am now.  If you ever go shopping in Kingston, then take a walk up the river towards Surbiton.  They all live down there.

handicap is 904.  Interestingly at the Bloody Mary they made it lower, but used the normal one at the Tiger.

The handicap isn't actually too bad, but still a little high.  If there was 5 knots more we would have had them.  I was just happy to beat Richard Stenhouse on the sunday!
