If i can get my 2000 crew to get his ass in gear there is a video of us sailing downwind in a steady 25 knot westerly at Largo (Max Gust:35knots while we were out).

The water looks very calm for a F6+ though it must of been fairly breezy to get the 2 tonner to move like that, what does one of those things weigh roughly?

more than ur average house. about 100kg i think. they do go well and when it gets to windy for anything else (45-50knots) get 3 friends and have the ride of ur life. was one crazy ride downwind and upwind just hurt.

pretty cool pic of a 2tonner at my home club, wind about 30knots

Right then, we expect a few decent pictures of her ladyship and your good self hurtling along in the 4k by next monday.  She's had a practice and it's now time for you to show us what she's made of.

It's only a small lake so the water surface can be deceiving....There are some better ones of the boat with the usual helm and myself in similar winds but I dont know where they have been posted....

Yep, got a text from Carshalton on Tuesday to say that the mast had arrived, and another one today to say that the sail's fixed, yipee!
All I hope now, is that Luke's not waiting until Sunday morning to rig the boat for the first time because, from previous experience regarding new stayed masts from Laser, we're likely to miss the morning race!

yay new mast is on the boat now and main sail looking alot better now it has no hoe in it. the mast felt alot lighter than the old one and we seemed to point alot higher than we used to.   the silver mast looks a tini bit funny with the black boom and gnav strut.

Black absorbs light and therefore silver is just a little bit lighter.

yer well i dont mind lets us go faster and the sail goes up so much better but the last mast felt like a pigeon died in my mast track.

only problem is i have new shrouds and jib halyard aswell so need to sort out our settings, but the old light wind settings still selt fast so might just leave it.

It works every time, i do exactly the same in the buzz unless it blowing a hooly in which case i go down a  hole on shrouds and whack on a load of tension

But i feel that this will be the norm when luke and i sail together until one of us buys a tension gauge etc. I get bored of measuring mast rake etc. i do exactly in the 14 to be truly honest

You missed a great bargain this weekend: Contender443 bought a rig tension gauge off E-bay from the one and only BigWaveDave! And because Dave is such a lovely man, he delivered it himself (alternative version: he was in the area and couldn't see the point of posting the thing). Unfortunately, he turned up while I was at BBSC but it seems that our own BigWaveDave has shrunk in size, losing 3st in weight.
Daughter Nº1 said he was quite good-looking, hehe... I've got to teach that girl some taste...

He's still the greatest in spirit and we miss him acutely on this forum. He did threaten to come back to dinghy sailing, one day... But now, Finns will be too much of a handful I suppose.
A 4.7 maybe?

HEEEEEELLLLOOOOOOOO

Only quite good looking, pah,

Anyway I will be back sailing in the future but while I am a slimline 12 stone and of the mature age of 41 I thought I would have a midlife crisis. I have learnt to surf.

But there's more.........

No not a Porsche and an affair but back 26 years and I've started skateboarding again

Hurts a lot more than when I was a kid though. (And it is a bit more difficult than I remember)

I'll tell you though, there are a lot of 'mature' gents getting back into it, it's gonna be the next big thing.

Yeah, you're getting old... Your eyesight isn't as good as it used to be

As for pi$$ taking, you can always come and watch me tap dance - my new venture - it's a disaster!
