What a great three days the Tasar Nationals were. Its a pity we dropped out on day 2 because of my knackered old body spending too much time swimming. Thank you for all the offers of help from all the boats planing past, did I look that bad? The funny thing is that the race was won by an expat. Aussie pair with old fashioned Dacron sails and second place was an ancient boat on Mylars. Shows how even Tasar racing is.

Was it you Mr Porteous who "won" the first race only to be denied by a very small undewieght? I know that Ben did very well in the last worlds but how far does his pedigree extend. He did seem a jolly nice chap.

Yes it was !! 1Kg under weight but helm and crew 30 kg above 130 kg minimum crew requirement. Lesson learnt!! I believe that Ben was in the Australian Olympic development squad. Yes a very nice and modest guy a great person to have in our class
