All, Just got back from our nationals at Filey SC. There will be a report soon on the Musto Skiff site. There are many things that make a great event but one of the key ingredients is the effort and welcome that the home club makes for the visitors. I have been to many clubs in my time but Filey sets the new benchmark in effort and welcome for me ... hats off to Filey and a bit thanks from the MPSCA If your class is looking for a venue for a future championships I would recommend them highly. They also have an regatta every year that is very well attened. regards, Rick |

The Venue i.e the sea and winds was good when we were there but the tides were really high so you had to pull the boat up the massive hill every night and back down again in the evening. The club house changing and showering fertilities are a bit pants tho but i agree there effort as a club was fantastic. ------------- Boatless and Clubless |

Filey is ace! If there's one open event to do every year it's their regatta in July. Fantastic place to sail. ------------- Not all chemicals are bad. Without chemicals such as hydrogen and oxygen, for example, there would be no way to make water, a vital ingredient in beer. |

The club house may not be the ritz but the facilities were more than capable of coping with our 47 sailors; they key for me is the welcome presented by the host club and the quaility of the racing they can provide. On that measure the club did an excellent job. Rick ------------- |

like anyone been to mounts bay or SCYC recently? both those buidlings are perhaps overdue a refresh in the facilities depatments, and yet they'd both rate as ace clubs for sailing waters /scenery/beach etc... possibly the friendliest ever club is Broadstairs in kent...the welcome there is fantastic, beers and curries are pretty good too. |
