I wonder how I could get a lasagne to the crew, then be in a place to take over.

Been round on a Hurricane and a Tornado, the VX40 would rock!!

(I've been around on a Spitfire )

Be a big giggle in large breeze with a big chop runnin.  I've a feeling the Vx's will be a bit of a handfull in the big stuff.....  But I'd still like a go!

just been looking at the stats for the vx40's my boat Emma Hamilton is 26ft carries almost as much sail and we are half the weight!

think I might just have to go out for a cruise on the 3rd of June

But I would think (and I'm not having a go at your boat), but the Vx's are a little more robust !

quite possibly although Emma takes 25 to 30 knot breezes with 3 of us out on the wire in her stride ( not sure i would want to sail her any distance in more than that though! ) Emma used to be based in Hong Kong and held the round island record for many years , the owner at that time said he frequently had to battle 15ft waves to get out of the harbour so I guess she is reasonably sturdy.

3rd of June is looking more and more appealing. My tornado is at weston, may have to go for a little sail in the solent!! Be interesting especially if breezy, emma v vx40 v tornado sport.

Looking forward to the outfall round the back. Been a couple of years since I had to play in those.

I dont think you will make mitch booth happy if you beat the vx40s. Deffently go for it and start when they do. I dont think there could be a better feeling than beating a £300,000+ boat with a £4000 one.

As great as it may be to see the C give it to the VX's.........  I think you will find they are in another league.

38 % longer at 40 foot and a hell of a lot more sail area.

Speeds also up to 40 knots and able to sustain higher speeds for longer periods of time and sea conditions.

Good luck though

For story check here..........  http://www.sailinganarchy.com/fringe/2006/Nascar.htm - VX's on Baltimore Harbour.

I don't think for 1 minute that we would stand a chance against the finely tuned vx40's and there professional crews in a boat we have only just bought and are still getting to grips with! but if I could get my crew out of bed early enough to be on the water for a  6am start (very doubtful) we wouldn't be as out gunned as you might think, Emma isn't even close to being a C-Class anymore she is longer and wider than a C and with her bigger rig has only 18% less sail area than the vx40's, also the vx40's weigh in at a hefty 1100kg to our 450kg.
