it was just a very immature advert written by someone who obviously wasn't a sailor or has never sailed basically making out that sailors were 'gay'.

Somehow that brings tears of pain to my eyes  I can see this thread reaching abysmally low levels of good taste and/or decency before long.

Boys! Are you going to behave??

Shows some initiative though, got to give them that!  They offer a free Laser on a boats-for-sale website, then sl*g us off, I reckon thats fairly inspired...

Wonder what the sailing community did to them though to make them think up such an elaborate plan.

I thought the Sunfish was the biggest selling boat worldwide or has it been overtaken by the Laser now?

Its that unusual for non-Sailors to "acquire" a Laser...

Wikipedia says that over half a million Sunfishes have been made!

"what i meant was if they're calling all sailors gay why have they got a laser?"

if they're that dumb they probably bought it on ebay in the first place to remove hair and then got really excited when they "had to pick it up by car" ... before mincing up in the MX5 to discover they'd bought a fibreglass 70's classic of the sailing variety, not the industrial hair removal type!

... come on you lovely boys, get brave and go for waxing, leave the sailing to real men; hair removal by wetsuit zip, divides the men from the boys I'll tell ya!

I've got no photo, because I was a little busy with paying attention to the course, holding the mainsheet (not hard enough), steering (not pointing high enough), getting on the trapeze (too far at the back of the boat). Plus I didn't have enough kicker and I had a rubbish start and I should get closer to the marks. (It doesn't help when a fellow sailor shouts at you from behind "Get out of the way! You shouldn't be here" when you're near the gybe mark and he's 10 boat lengths behind! He didn't know I was racing...)
No, it wasn't a resounding success, but I kept the boat going all the time, didn't capsize, didn't miss any buoys, didn't hit anyone else  AND I came NINTH! out of nine... 33 mns behind the first ... hey, I see it as room for improvement!

BNS forgot to mention whose boat she was sailing!!

It obviously gave her confidence - mind you have not seen the boat in question since it was used.
