Hi, I have just bought a new lark - took ownership of her yesterday! only problem being, she needs complete rigging upgrade! This should not be any particular problem, but one wee question - what lengths of rope do you need for kicker, cunningham, mainsheet bridle, outhaul etc? she came with mainsheet, halyards and jib sheets so fairly lucky there.

She also has 1909 etched onto the inside stern - which I'm gathering to be her sail no. (despite the main having another number on it) so anyone know how old she may be?

Any help would be muchly appreciated!!

Cheers

I see you've also posted this on the Lark website - www.larkclass.org I'm sure Ruth or Eluned will get back to you with the history of your boat if tehy know it. There are some good guides on the website that will help plus you can download my guide from www.cuckoos.eclipse.co.uk.

I'm also certain that everyone will be most helpful if you turn up at an Open meeting, where are you based BTW?

Don't forget if you register your Lark and haven't been a class member before you get a year's free class membership. Furthermore, if you look at the register you'll be able to estimate when 1909 (sail No.) was built.

Thanks for your response; I am based just outside Edinburgh. Not sure if I will be doing any travellers this year - lack of car, licence and trailer prohibit that for now... should try an do some next year though!! once she has some nice new sails!! the ones I have i believe to be older than the boat! (and my boat was made in early 80's!!!!)
