My fiancee has just used her new MM BA for the first time (the black/silver front fastening jobbie) and noticed a stitched in 3" loop of elastic on the right hand side of the waistband.
Apart from snagging on anything you can think of, does this have any useful purpose? I have the older blue/grey version and it does not have it.
Tempted to cut it off but manufacturers get VERY excited if you start making "modifications" to safety equipment.
If it's a loop for a knife/whistle etc then surely it would have better under the pocket flap? Seems a bit daft covering the adjusters on the new version with lycra to stop snagging then adding an elastic loop that sticks out!

Hi Iain, I have the same BA, with the same elastic! I use it for
my knife shockcord, and whistle when I'm coaching. Otherwise, I'm
as in the dark as you are on it! Its never snagged on anything
but I guess it could, it doesn't do anything for the operation of the
BA so it probs wouldn't be a problem removing it, although that will
probably void any warranty or guarantee on it.
I'm leaving mine on but I can see why you wonder!

yep i have one too. I use mine to attach a spare mars bar to, the other mars bar goes in the king sized mars bar sized pouch on the front!
