Does anyone know about this?

http://www.fastsail.org/ - http://www.fastsail.org/

When is the 2006 SGP planned and who is running the event?

Rick

Hi Rick,

In answer to your question the 2006 SGP is scheduled for 7/8 October 2006 and is at Queen Mary SC.

The Fastsail committee are organising it this as Cath and Mike (the mum and dad of the idea) have taken a step back. I can probably get you the name of a contact on the committee if you need one.

There are also a few regional events planned this year, one at Lymington 20/21 May and one at Grafham 9/10 Sept.

http://www.sail-cd.demon.co.uk/ltsc/events/fastsail06.htm - Here for LTSC open

More details for the SGP will be available at the Dinghy Show (on the Fastsail stand).

Regards,

Paul

I agree with Rick, why has sailcrazy got anything to do with Fastsail?

Not wanting to be the forum police but surely it would have done better as a new thread if it is a plug for a new site?

And what exactly does this have to do with the thread topic?

Posted By: timnoyce
Date Posted: 07 Feb 06 at 12:37pm

it doesn't... but if you look, the thread has been off topic since the guilty post from 'noidea'.

What does your post have to do with the topic of the thread? It's hardly constructive...

Back on track ... I notice the Fastsail website dosn't seem to be updated with the 2006 events.

Is the "movement" still rolling?

Rick

Hi Rick.  There is an item called "2006 update" at the top of the FastSail web page which will fill you in on progress this year.

There will be a large FastSail stand at the Dinghy Show with all the boats on it.

The first combined FastSail event fo this year is at Lymington Town Sailing Club on the 20th and 21st May.

Hi Rick,

To echo what Pierre said.

The information I posted earlier in the chat came from that section. The movement is very much alive and well and, as pointed out by Pierre, will have a large stand at Ally Pally this year.

Regards,

Paul

Just in case anybody forgot  It's the Lymington Fastsail event this weekend. 20th 21st May.

   http://www.sail-cd.demon.co.uk/ltsc/events/fastsail06.htm - Lymington FastSail Event

Based on the weather forecast it should be a pretty spectacular showing.

Get on Down !!!  Kick ass rhythm & blues band on in the evening as well.

Are you involved in the band in anyway Pierre?

I still remember the SGP 2 years back all singing round the fire!

Shame I can't get down there  although not being a member of any of the relevant CAs at the minute means technically I am not a member of Fastsail...

You should go for it (if Stan is in a good mood). Hope you are taking your boat this time too.

Thought i would drag this back into the light as October is fast approaching. I'm pretty sure that dad and i will be there in IVplay. We like plugging the boat so if anyone is interested in a testsail just come up and talk to us and i am pretty sure we could arrange for you to have a go before/after racing (furthermore if you live in the South east and fancy a go before the end of the season PM me and i could try and arrange something). Who else from the forum is going? Look forward to seeing some of you there.
