Hi all,
I am 15, 5ft 9" and weigh 13st (about 85-88kg) I currently sail a laser but am looking for something a bit quicker and more extreme that I can sail on my own in most weather, I currently sail on the solent so am not lacking for room or wind.
I was thinking a contender or a catamaran like a spitfire 15 (I have sailed cats before)
Many thanks

Plenty to choose from in that area. Go sail a few and see what lights your fire.

Lots of suitable boats for you, I sail a Blaze which would definitely fit your stated requirements but I suspect it will not be quite extreme enough to maintain the excitement. I can manage mine (at 66 years and 78kg) in almost any weather. Contender is worth a try if being able to cope when out of range of rescue is a requirement, or a Musto or RS700 if you can rely on rescue and really want something challenging. But as Rupert says, go and sail some, as long as you have a rep for being reasonable sensible I'm sure people at your club will be happy to demo their boats.
