| Two different alligators it seems. The midlands one is Sandwell Valley SC (and was 1999). And I've found invasive shrimps in our reservoir, so be careful out there folks... |

google alligator sightings, they occur with same frequency as large cat sightings. Chew Valley one, genuine, actually got one, no explanation that I can find where the poor thing appeared from. Unlikely they could survive winter so chances of a breeding pair slim.

How about an actual Mississippi Snapping Turtle found a few years ago in the Engine Pool at Earlswood Lakes near Solihull?
See http://www.birminghampost.co.uk/news/local-news/giant-alligator-snapping-turtle-caught-3929378 Earlswood Lake Sailing Club sail on the adjoining lake and this did encourage some rapid capsize recovery.
