I'm sure this has come up on here before but I was trying to explain to my son the rather wonderful wetsuit adverts (Trident?) from the 70's/80's, while he was muttering "during the war" under his breath.
Despite trawling the modern internet I have been unable to locate the image. Can anyone provide? |

however Thank you Roger, not the model I remember but good enough. Is there irony in that the internet is swarming with filth and yet even I would be shocked if Rooster/Magicmarine/Zhik did similar today. |

I'd forgotten Javlin was spelt without the e. I would say the pictures are a throwback to more innocent times, but judging by the number of celebrity court cases dating back to the 70s, it appears not. Still, brings back fond memories of Y&Y from late 70s and early 80s, when it was the only place to find out what was happening in the dinghy world, came out fortnightly, and if you got your name in an open meeting report, felt 10 feet tall. Of course according to the biblical doctrine of the fall we haven't had innocent times for thousands of years. I do think that history is going to regard the early 21stC as being one of the more bizarrely screwed up and inconsistent eras though. |
